The Mental Capacity Act Team

The Mental Capacity Act Team undertake complex mental capacity work, including Court of Protection work for those who are deprived of their liberty in a community setting. They also provide support across adult social care to ensure effective implementation of the Act.

In addition to this, the team also manage the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) process, responding to standard and urgent authorisation requests for adults in hospital or residential care.
